Amazon Commits €1.4 Billion to Dutch Expansion, Bolstering AI and E-Commerce Infrastructure
Amazon unveiled plans to invest €1.4 billion ($1.6 billion) in the Netherlands from 2025 to 2027, marking its largest financial commitment to the country since its 2020 launch. The funds will accelerate AWS infrastructure upgrades and retail technology enhancements, with over 4,500 Dutch SMEs currently leveraging Amazon's global marketplace.
The announcement coincided with Amazon's five-year anniversary in the Netherlands, where it employs 1,000+ workers across logistics and corporate operations. 'This investment underscores our confidence in the Dutch digital economy,' stated Eva Faict, Country Manager for Amazon Benelux, during The Hague event.
